SVEC was created to provide a meaningful vocational education for those who might otherwise not have that chance. In addition, general education and life skills were integrated into the curriculum development, and new learning and teaching strategies were at the center of its design development.
A special collaborative relationship guided the design of this school which held the promise of an enriched learning experience. All involved in the dream of this school imagined a place where students would work together on issues of leadership, health promotion, interfaith tolerance and entrepreneurship while learning a vocation. Discussion with community members determined vocations to be taught at the school.
